Customs: Russia’s Jan-Mar wheat exports rise 13.9% to 6 mln tns

MOSCOW, May 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports increased 13.9% on the year to 6.148 million tonnes and by 20.57% to U.S. $1.104 billion in monetary terms in January–March, the Federal Customs Service said on Wednesday.

Exports to non-CIS countries rose by 13.23% to 5.903 million tonnes in physical terms and by 19.95% to $1.06 billion in monetary terms. Exports to the CIS countries increased by 33.24% to 244,100 tonnes and rose by 37.82% to $43 million in monetary terms.

Russia’s wheat imports decreased 73% to 56,900 tonnes worth $9.2 million in the period. Barley imports more than quadrupled to 45,900 tonnes worth $9.4 million, and corn imports went up 98.8% to 29,700 tonnes worth $112.1 million.
